AllSaints SS12

After a frustratingly long wait, The Modern Man is delighted to be able to share with you the first lot of imagery from the much anticipated AllSaints SS12 collection.

Shot by Boo George, featuring Tony Ward and Claude Simonon, the beautifully shot pictures show-off what's on its way this season.

Through a mix of fabrics and textures, the collection sees a clever fusion of different colours and fabrics, clashing with bang on trend prints to create a distinctive yet unique look.

From corduroy to check, to denim and camouflage, the range sees AllSaints at its best, taking a step forward into spring/summer through a diverse range of styles.

See the images above. Spring collection set to start hitting stores and AllSaints.com this week.

Dr. Martens #FirstandForever

Everyone remembers their first love, and many of you will also recall your first pair of Dr.Martens...

#FIRSTANDFOREVER is the brand new campaign from AirWair specialist, Dr.Marten - shot by Gavin Watson, and starring Agyness Deyn and Ash Stymest.

Created for SS12, the campaign is continuing on from the 'First Heartbreak' story of AW11. Once again it uses a clever combination of imagery and film, following Deyn and Stymest on a spontaneous journey of 'First' moments and experiences.

Where last seasons video focused on the raw emotions of 'heartbreak', for spring/summer there is a much lighter spirit!

With the campaign, obviously comes new product, and you won't find much better than the new batch of footwear from Dr.Martens.

Head over to Dr.Martens.com now to share your 'first'. It could be a girl, boy, TV show or pair of Dr.Martens. We all have our own loves and experiences...

ASOS Future Stylist giveaway

How does it work?

Like ASOS on Facebook
Put your name & email in the comment section of this post

As you probably know, a while back I was asked to take part in this years ASOS Future Stylist, and well, it's finally here!

For Round 1 we were asked to style a look around "dressing up denim" - and what a good time I had.

When picking my outfit I chose to stick to my roots, choosing pieces that were stereotypically 'British'. The skinny jeans and blazer I matched were quite a contrast of looks, yet the fit of the jeans gave the look a real 'tailored' feel.

I always think outfits are made that extra bit special by adding the smallest of details. With this is mind, I chose to add a bow tie, a curved collar shirt, and a pocket square.

If I was to describe the look, I would say it was a modern twist on the popular 'Britsh heritage' trend.

Anyway, enough about me. ASOS have kindly given me a £25 voucher to give to one of you, and all you have to do is A) 'Like' ASOS on Facebook, B) Vote for me here, and C) leave your name and email in the comment box below.

I appreciate every single vote, it would be great to get as far as possible in the competition. So thank you so much if you do. I must mention you also get automatically entered into a draw to win a £200 ASOS voucher when you vote.

I will be announcing the winner at the beginning of next week!

Style Icon: John F.Kennedy

1. Polo Ralph Lauren white shirt @ my-wardrobe £85| 2. Hudson chocolate loafers @ my-wardrobe £100| 3. Grey sweatshirt @ Topman £20|

Why do we dress the way we do? Who has inspired you?

Chances are that person is 1960s President, John F. Kennedy.

Born John Fitzgerald Kennedy on May 29, 1917, the iconic American had a style as memorable as any. There wasn't anything particular special about the garments he wore, yet his confidence and charisma made him one of the best dressed men in the US.

Today, without knowing, many of your outfits will be shared with so many of Kennedy's most memorable pieces of clothing.

With just a few key items, you too can dress as well as the man himself! See some of them above.
