Four key shirts for summer

Finally, it's that glorious time of the year when we can put the stress and worries of work behind us, and jet off to a land of sun, sea and cocktails on the beach. BUT, before you can relax, the dreaded task of packing stands in your way. You have your shoes, your underwear, shorts, creams and new swimwear, yet you are left with no room for your beloved collection of shirts. But let's face it; the likelihood is you will never end up wearing them all anyway.

Luckily, 'The Modern Man' has come up with four key summer shirts that will see you through every occasion. Whether it is evening drinks, afternoon lunch, or a quiet night in the town, you will always have an option. Stick to your luggage allowance with these four beauties:

OPTION 1:
This Fournier H/s shirt by AllSaints is the perfect option for evening drinks in the most stylish of bars. The classic oxford button down collar gives it a sophisticated feel, and makes it extremely versatile. Pair alone with chino shorts, or layer under a suit jacket for a much smarter look.

OPTION 2:
Available at Mr Porter, this J.Crew short sleeve chambray shirt is ideal for those evening strolls around town. Neither would it look out of place while parading the shops. Pair with chino's or shorts, but don't forget to roll them up!

OPTION 3:
Lets face it, once upon a time you would have been laughed at for wearing a floral print shirt. It was the kind of thing your not so cool uncle would wear. This year however, all has changed. Pair this Topman black reverse print shirt with some neatly rolled up chino shorts for a perfect evening outfit.

OPTION 4:
Look your very best at dinner with this Masterson H/s shirt from AllSaints. Pair with some rolled up chinos and loafers or boat shoes, and your dinner date will be showering you with compliments.
