Originally designed for seafarers to tackle the bitter cold, the duffle coat is now a must have in every 'modern man's' wardrobe.

It is said that the coat's characteristic fastenings - large wooden toggles slotted through rope loops - could quite easily be manipulated with the coldest of hands, and were even used heavily by the Royal Navy during the Second World War.
