Mastering the Art: Tying Your Scarf

It's a tough life isn't it? As the cold weather arrives in abundance, us suave gentleman have to come up with a way of looking cool but staying warm. As if we didn't have enough to deal with - present wrapping, turkey cutting, and of course decorating the tree.

But, the good news is, we've found the easiest of answers: the scarf. And how do you wear this genius invention? I say using these three techniques:

1. The 'throw over'.

As most famously worn by Dr Who (Tom Baker), the throw-over requires little effort yet has maximum effect. Note: You may want to choose a scarf that isn't as long!

2. The 'drape'.

Similar to the throw over, the drape is even less hassle and arguably even more effective. Shown here by style icon Simone Righi, you can see how it fits perfectly under a blazer.

3. The 'slip knot'.

Probably the most common, and smartest way to style your scarf, the slip knot is perfected each weekend by football's very own style leader: Roberto Mancini.
