Introducing Chess London
Created in 2010, Chess London offers the modern man a wardrobe that allows him well designed, high quality apparel built on honoured British tradition tailoring.
Its subtle details and touches of individuality have already attracted the interests of high profile ambassadors including NBA star Luol Deng, footballer Phil Jones, and guitarist for Florence and the Machine, Rob Ackroyd.
"Chess London's signiature style is 'detail under cover'. Our style is classic with a modern twist. We are a brand that is led by design and quality.
"At Chess London we appreciate classic British menswear from the eye of a modern Londoner who wants to look his best, and it's from this contrast we draw our inspiration," says designer Ali Riaz.
For spring/summer 12, the collection is characterised by its excellent quality, durability and wearability. Featuring suits, jackets, jumpers, outwear and accessories, Chess London is set to add a touch of class to the world of menswear.

New Years Eve sorted with ASOS
![]() |
All looks available at ASOS |
With Christmas already a thing of the past, and New Year just around the corner, it's time you got yourself in gear and thought about your New Years outfit...
2011 has seen some real movement in the world of men's fashion, so why not celebrate in style with these fantastic outfit ideas from ASOS?
The Modern Man has selected three great looks, each ideal for different occasions:

Look 1: The first, and smartest of these three looks, is the perfect outfit for a 'Dinner and Dance' themed evening.
The white slim fit tuxedo and black bow tie provide a classic contrast, and give off the look of a true gentleman. Pair with some smart black shoes and your outfit is complete.
Look 2: This second look is probably the most popular. It can be a tricky task picking a more casual outfit for New Years, but this look from ASOS is ideal.
The jacket and trousers give it a real smart feel, yet the fit and materials of both, make it far more casual.
Look 3: If you're hitting the town this New Years then this last look is for you. Smart-casual as I like to call it!
The tweed suit remains smart and stylish, yet its material and fit gives off a real urban look. Pair with some classic brogues and you'll be the talk of the town.
Whatever outfit you go for, I wish you all a fantastic evening! Thank you so much for all your support this year, and make sure you stay with me for the next! BW

Patrick Grant
Who is he? Crowned designer of the year in 2010, Grant is an impeccably dressed tailor.
Where can you find him? Take a walk down the famous Savile Row, and you may just bump into him.
How do you recognize him? Grant bases his style on the traditions of Savile Row, but adds his own touches with the likes of the bow tie.

Style inspiration
There is no shame in admitting we turn to others for inspiration, and 'The Modern Man' is no different. In my eyes, there is not many better than GQ's very own wondering eye, Tommy Ton.
Searching the stylish streets of some of the worlds biggest cities, Tommy captures some of the most dapper gents alive. Below are some of the best looks captured by the man himself at the Venue Clicquot Polo Classic. Enjoy, and be inspired:

A SPECIAL look at AllSaints tailoring
Being a 'modern man' is being knowledgeable. It is grasping the concepts which make an old school gentleman, and adding your own new, edgy and exciting twists...
This isn't the first time I have shared with you AllSaints tailoring, but since discovering their new summer tailoring lookbook's, I thought they deserved a mention of their own.
When looking for something different in a suit, AllSaints is your go to. In fact, you couldn't get much more diverse if you tried. With a wide range of pieces to mix and match, the opportunities are endless. For this SPECIAL look at AllSaints tailoring, we have featured here some of the best items from the new lookbook images above, and given you a few options for when to wear them. Enjoy:
Look 1 (Left) :
Having a day out in the city? This look is perfect for those casual occasions, and when day turns to night you won't look out of place sipping cocktails in a stylish bar.
Look 2 (centre) :
Now summer is nearly here, those evening drinks should be happening more often. Wear this look while enjoying drinks in the sun, and let the compliments begin...
Look 3 (right) :
This look would be the perfect outfit for a wedding after party. Be sure to roll up the trousers for that extra edgy feel, but beware you may upset the groom by looking more dapper!
