The Wayfarer

The Ray-Ban Wayfarer was designed back in 1952 by optical designer Raymond Stegeman. The design marked the historic transition between a period of eyewear with thin metal frames, and an era of plastic eyewear.

Since its creation, the Wayfarers enjoyed its earliest popularity in the 1950s and 1960s, but now 50 years later, they are enjoying a huge revival. The iconic sunglasses are a must have for the 'modern man', and will instantly add a touch of style to any outfit this summer.

Head over to ASOS for these classic Ray-Ban Wayfarer sunglasses, or shop their full range of shades for some cheaper, yet just as stylish alternatives:

Project Ocean

Look great and earn peace of mind with this t-shirt from famed activist and fashion designer Katharine Hamnett. This Stop and Think t-shirt has been created as part of Project Ocean, a partnership between fashion giant Selfridges and the Zoological Society of London. Together they challenge the public to imagine a world with no more fish in the sea.

The project involved has created a number of t-shirts to increase awareness of the issue over-fishing, thus making change and raising money along the way. A special gift for Father's Day

Father's Day is the lovable celebration which honours fathers across the world. It celebrates fatherhood, paternal bonds and the great influence our beloved fathers have on society. As it is officially celebrated in the UK next month (19th June), 'The Modern Man' has decided to help by picking out something a little special for you to give out this year.

Thankfully, men's luxury designer brand, Dunhill, was on hand to help, and has some fantastic options to chose from in their gifts section online. The pick of the bunch are these fantastic spinning globe cufflinks. A combination of brushed and polished finishes accentuates the brilliant detailing, and will make your papa feel on top of the world.

The significant size and standout design of these unique cufflinks make them an ideal gift for the man who likes to make a statement:

A SPECIAL look at AllSaints denim

Once the hardwearing cotton twill textile worn by the likes of Billy Elliot and Christopher Chambers (Stand By Me), it is now a must have in the 'modern man's' contemporary wardrobe. Still a long-lasting, masculine men's essential, but now you can look super stylish while wearing it.

As the British well know, you can never be too sure what the weather will chuck up, so by no means is it too late to buy your denim garments. They will see you right through the spring, into the summer, and throughout the winter. In fact, they can be worn all year round. Instead of opting for a lightweight coat (which is still a good option), be clever and get yourself into the habit of layering.

With this great range of new denim from AllSaints, layering is made easy. Putting a stylish denim shirt over a crew/scoop t-shirt is the perfect way to get started, and is a great S/S look. Pair with some chalk jeans, or Detroit chinos and you will soon have heads turning. Matching the same colour denim is not the greatest of choices, but by all means mix different colours.

As part of the 'Modern Man's' SPECIAL look at AllSaints denim, below I have put together three great outfits to show what you can achieve:

LOOK 1: Layer this slim fit Hyaku shirt on top of a striped Darwin crew for a great casual evening outfit. On your bottom half, finish the look with these Chalk cigarette jeans and suede Recess shoes.

LOOK 2: Wear this Gatling ban shirt on top of this stylish slim fit Lyon 3/4 crew, with a pair of Detroit chinos and some classic Avert loafers.

LOOK 3: Pair this Kelt H/s shirt with this lightweight Fareham scoop for a great summer outfit. On your bottom half match the sand Growl chino with these super stylish Ray boots.

Not the most obvious of style icons, Joe Jonas is better known rocking around on the Disney channel. However he does his Disney pals proud here, as he shows how to dress down perfectly. Festival footwear

Picking shoes for the upcoming festivals is always a tricky task. The most obvious choice to tackle the unpredictability of the Great British weather, is the Wellington boot. But isn't that just too obvious? This year be a little different and opt for these Diemme Roccia vet boots at endclothing.

Douglas Booth

Who is he? Douglas Booth is a name you will be hearing a lot of in the future. He is a remarkably talented young actor, and a rising star.

Where can you find him? He was the star in the BBC2 portrayal of Boy George, and most recently featured in Christopher and His Kind. Unsurprisingly, Booth came second place in GQ Magazine's Annual Best-dressed List. He has modelled in several campaigns, but is best recognized for his role for Burberry.

How do you recognize him? Booth has a modern British style, and always turns out well. If you are not quite aware of him yet, his model like features would have attracted the attention of your girlfriends...
